Jamestown is a small, yet eclectic city in New York between Lake Erie and the Allegheny National Forest. With its vast history and easy accessibility, Jamestown attracts tourists from all over, especially during summer. A few notable attractions in the Jamestown area include:
- National Comedy Center
- Chautauqua Institution
- Chautauqua Lake
- New York State wine trails
- Moon Brook Country Club
There are also various approaches to Jamestown including the private airport Chautauqua County Jamestown Airport (JHW) and interstate travel. Those departing from Buffalo, NY, and Cleveland, OH will take I-90 while those from Pittsburgh, PA will take I-79. All three routes are about 2.5 hours one-way via car.
The Moon Brook Course on a Great Day
No other Jamestown golf courses come close, as the Moon Brook Country Club experience is transformative. From start to finish, from the first tee shot til’ dessert after dinner, Moon Brook’s pricing is more reasonable than any private country club in the country. You’ll never want to leave!
Moon Brook Country Club has a history of 100+ years. The Willie Park Jr. course was designed by William “Willie” Park Jr., professional golfer and two-time Open Championship winner from Scotland. With a course length from the tips being 6,821 yards, Moon Brook is considered by some to be one of the best in the world.
The impeccably maintained, plush, sloped fairways make for challenging tee shots - tricky, and even impossible, for some elite golfers. Golf balls cruise on the speedy greens, and the optical illusions Willie Park Jr. was famous for will surely keep you guessing the breaks. You will swear your put breaks right...but NO! As fast and true as these greens are, they will also hold a well-placed shot for all your birdies, pars, bogeys, and optimistically - hole-in-ones. Moon Brook’s relaxed culture will help you to stay on top of your game. You’ll never encounter a crowded course or pushy people, as most days feel like you have the course all to yourself!
Moon Brook Country Club isn’t just for Jamestown residents. In fact, there are just as many benefits for non-resident golfers to make the trip. The main draw of Moon Brook’s golf course is the chance to try and master the short game and putting greens. On top of this, Jamestown’s perfect temperate weather conditions are irresistible for every golf enthusiast.
